I was born in South Africa and immigrated to the United Kingdom in 2024 with my parents.
I completed my schooling online as part of home schooling after immigrating. I had to demonstrate independence and adaptability from a young age. In the coming September, I will start college at Buckinghamshire College to study an engineering course. However, I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to enrol onto a part-time apprenticeship at SurgEase Innovations in May; becoming one of the youngest members of their team.
When passion fuels a purpose, I was excited to have this great work opportunity and to earn whilst I learn some great life and technology skills.
My role at Surge Ease Innovation includes hands-on training in assembling advanced technology systems such as the LumenEye X1 Docking System and the TriEye Docking System.
In addition to the technical work, I also handle key administrative responsibilities, including packing and dispatching completed medical systems. I have recently started taking more responsibilities such as incoming inspections and some QC processes.
I’m proud to see myself in consistent growth as I am embracing the opportunity to learn and contribute in a professional environment and gain experience in an international company. Working with the management team and being exposed to the broader world of technology has been incredibly valuable. Not many opportunities like this come around, and I’m truly grateful to be one of the selected few. I'm eager to continue learning and growing.
I enjoy the new passion for technology, the strong work ethic, and I am ready to take on new challenges—all of which I know will set a strong foundation for my future.
