In 2022, I had an internship at SurgEase that turned out to be so much more than just a typical internship experience. I got to rotate through every department, from finance where I learned about budgeting and procurement, to design where I picked up Figma and got to contribute to prototyping sessions, to engineering where I watched concepts actually come to life. What made it special was how welcoming everyone was. I'd spend my mornings in one department, afternoons in another, and honestly, some of my best learning happened during after-work hangouts with the team, whether it was grabbing dinner, chatting over drinks, or just decompressing after a long day. The office had unlimited hot chocolate, which I definitely took full advantage of during those late afternoon design reviews. By the end of it, I didn't just understand how a medical device company operates, I genuinely knew the people behind it and felt like part of the SurgEase family.
