This observational analysis evaluated the real-world use of the LumenEye® digital rectoscope in outpatient colorectal clinics. The study explored diagnostic performance, tolerability, and impact on patient management pathways.

Findings showed that LumenEye offered high diagnostic accuracy, was well tolerated by patients, and improved clinician confidence during consultations. The device provided high-quality images that helped avoid unnecessary flexible sigmoidoscopies and enabled efficient triage.

The authors conclude that LumenEye has potential to be integrated into standard colorectal outpatient services, with implications for reducing costs and wait times. Further larger-scale evaluations are recommended.
